Hot Sauce as an Age Reversal Methodology

Hot sauce is a legitimate age reversal therapy.

Tabasco Sauce, Sriracha Sauce, Chipotle Sauce, Habanero Sauce, Crushed Red Pepper, Frank’s Hot Sauce, Mrs. Renfro’s Habanero Salsa, Herr’s Red Hot Potato Chips:  These are some of the things I love.  If it’s spicy, I want to eat it.  The spicier the dish, the more challenging and exciting.  I truly enjoy feeling the heat wash over me as I break out in a sweat, my face turns bright red, and my mouth goes numb.  I put hot sauce on pretty much everything.  Not just a little, but a lot.  I mean A LOT.  I literally buy it by the gallon, as you can see in the photos.  It is not uncommon for me to use ½ of a bottle of Tabasco or some other hot sauce in a given meal.  Why do I do this?  Primarily, just because I like it.  But it seems my love for spicy food also happens to have some powerful potential age reversal and general health benefits.
Super hot peppers, like the ones I’m currently growing in my condo (Ghost Peppers, Chocolate Habaneros, Naga Vipers, Chocolate Moruga Brains, and Butch T Trinidad Scorpions) make most people think “DANGER!”  I can’t even count the times I’ve been warned by concerned friends and acquaintances, “You know, eating food that spicy is bad for your health.  You’re going to burn a hole in your stomach.”  Yet, experts overwhelmingly agree that spicy food can do wonders for your body thanks to capsaicin, the active ingredient in peppers. Here are some study backed health benefits of hot sauce:

Weight Loss
Capsaicin temporarily increases your metabolic rate.  That means your body is burning calories faster, even at rest, making it easier to lose body fat, whether you are exercising or not.  Hot sauce also adds free flavor because it often has zero calories as well as no sugar or preservatives.  Tabasco’s only ingredients are distilled vinegar, red pepper, and salt.  Spicy foods have been shown to curb appetite, which makes sense, because setting fire to your mouth tends to temper even the most prodigious appetites.  The study sourced below found that caspaicin enhanced energy expenditure, boosted fat oxidation, and diminished appetite.
Decongestant
Capsaicin is one of the world’s most powerful, and totally natural, decongestants.  Why take a pharmaceutical with a host of potential side effects when you can just eat a really spicy meal?  Got a bad cold?  The Flu? Sinus infection?  Eat some hunan chicken and ask for it to be extra spicy.  Or try some Habanero Style Tabasco. Either should clear you right up.

Pain Relief
Capsaicin’s anti inflammatory properties have repeatedly been shown to relieve aches and pains.  You can even purchase capsaicin creams and patches.  Furthermore, the American Heart Association recommends always using non pharmacological methods first.

Loaded with Vitamins and Minerals
Hot peppers have healthy doses of vitamins A and C along with essential minerals and antioxidants. Antioxidants destroys free radicals that can enter and damage cells.

Cancer Fighter
Hot sauce may reduce the risk of cancerous cell growth.  It has also been shown to cause certain types of cancer cells to self destruct.  Scientists are now struggling to develop an effective delivery system.

Combats Stress and Depression
Getting a mouthful of fire results in your body pumping out endorphins.  These endorphins are hormones that make one feel good, like serotonin.  Hot Sauce may even be more effective than commonly prescribed SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) like prozac and zoloft.

Anti Aging Compound
Those antioxidants hot peppers are loaded with are potent anti aging tools.  Capsaicin also has proven anti inflammatory benefits.  Many scientists believe that inflammation plays a main role in the aging process.  The lower the inflammation in the body, the healthier one generally is.

Why Hot Sauce Contributes to Age Reversal
I may be among the very first people to claim Hot Sauce has the potential to lengthen one’s telomeres. Considering all of the above has been verified by numerous studies, capsaicin absolutely has the potential to be a useful tool at improving several of one’s biomarkers of aging, most notably: body temperature regulation, reduction of body fat, reduction of inflammation, and lower blood pressure.  In my view, if one improves as many of one’s measurable biomarkers of aging as much as possible, then one’s telomeres will eventually follow.

Many scientists and doctors now believe inflammation is the root cause of the diseases most likely to kill you; namely, cancer, heart disease, stroke, and Alzheimer’s.  Aging is often characterized by a chronic, low-grade inflammation.  This phenomenon has been termed “inflammaging.” Capsaicin, as noted above, is a powerful anti inflammatory.  As such, it is logical to conclude that anything that inhibits inflammation is an effective anti aging therapy.

Maybe my lifelong love for hot sauce is one of the primary reasons why, despite my unhealthy  lifestyle for so much of my life, that my telomeres indicate I have a biological age five years younger than my chronological age.  It’s certainly a possibility. So, if you want to lengthen your telomeres, why not try some extra hot sauce?  Savor the heat and visualize yourself growing younger.
